Rules & Parking
Parking
A $10 parking fee applies. Parking at the adjacent Aquatics Center or on Murphy Street is prohibited. No alcohol, pets, smoking, or tailgating is permitted on-site.
Governance & Sportsmanship
The tournament is governed by FIFA Laws of the Game as modified by US Club Soccer and further modified by these rules. Good sportsmanship is mandatory: coaches may only enter the field with referee approval, offensive or abusive language will not be tolerated, and spectators are strictly prohibited from entering the field. Serious misconduct can result in warnings, ejections, and team removal from the tournament.
Credentials & Rosters
- US Club Soccer, USYS/CYSA, or AYSO passes are required
- Maximum roster size: 22 players
- Maximum dressed for a match: 18 (11v11), 16 (9v9), or 14 (7v7)
Tournament Points
- Win: 6 points — Tie: 3 points — Loss: 0 points
- Goal bonus: 1 point per goal, max 3 per game
- Shutout bonus: 1 point
- Red card penalty: 1-point deduction
Tie-Breaking Procedure
In order: head-to-head result, goal differential (max 3 per game), fewest goals allowed, most goals scored, shutouts, red card count, fair play rating, then a coin toss.
Knockout Matches & Substitutions
- Championship, quarter-final, and semi-final games requiring a winner go directly to penalty kicks — 3 PKs for small-sided games rather than FIFA’s standard 5
- Unlimited substitutions are allowed at the referee’s discretion, prior to any restart
Ejections & Discipline
A player, parent, or coach ejected from a game may not return for that game and is barred from the next scheduled game. Each ejection results in a 1-point tournament deduction.
Weather Policy
If the tournament is cancelled due to weather, tournament officials retain the right to keep up to one-third (1/3) of the registration fee to cover expenses. There are no make-up games due to weather.
Equipment Requirements
- Cleats or turf shoes only — no metal studs on turf
- Shin guards required, covering at least ¾ of the shin
- No casts, air splints, or metal splints
- No jewelry, except taped medical alert bracelets
- Ball size: Size 4 (U8–U12), Size 5 (U13+)
Check-In, Forfeits & Field Care
- Online check-in is required; failing to check in results in a 1-point deduction
- Teams must report 30 minutes before their scheduled game time
- A team not on the field with at least 7/6/5 players (11v11/9v9/7v7) within 5 minutes of kickoff forfeits the game
- Forfeiting teams receive a 0–1 loss; the opposing team earns 8 tournament points
- No food — especially seeds and gum — is allowed on artificial turf fields; teams must dispose of all garbage

Format & Divisions
- Age divisions: U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14 (boys and girls)
- Skill levels: Copper through Premier
- Formats: 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11
- Minimum 3 games guaranteed per team
- Championship and 3rd-place games for qualifying divisions
- Guest players permitted (5–7 depending on format)
- Teams must be registered in good standing with a U.S. Soccer federation affiliate
